Pick out points where there is action and moments of description in the story. Generally the stories are divided in three parts, beginning, middle and end. The action is located in middle of the story. While describing a story try to create imaginary pictures in the minds of a listener by including physical actions, sound effects and expressions. Your focus should be on bringing the character into life.

The last but not the least thing to include in your storytelling is the props. For this purpose you will need to use certain gestures, sounds and voice while narrating a story. You can use the rate and pitch of your voice. You can even try using different voices for different characters of the story. Express the emotions of character while delivering the lines.
